I am thrilled to announce that Engel & Völkers Naples Bonita-Estero license partners Jim & Ellen Hollars, and Ryan Chiodo, and I have entered into an agreement in which I will be your managing broker, and a partner in the ownership of the company effective June 17, 2019.
Over the next several weeks I plan to meet with each of you, get to know you and learn what you believe we are doing well and where we have room for improvement such that collectively, we can craft a strategy for success to make our franchise the #1 Engel & Volkers franchise in Florida.
My role will be to: 1) help shape that strategy with you 2) make sure that you have the tools you need to be successful 3) recruit and retain talent (our advisors) and 4) bring some fun and positive energy to what we do.
I value transparency, accountability, and enthusiasm, and I pledge the same to you. By that I mean, I will be available when you need me in and out of the office. I will do my best to pick-up when you call, and if I am on another call, I will return your call promptly. Call me anytime, or feel free to stop into the office for a face to face visit.
Together, we are going to make it known that we at Engel & Volkers Naples Bonita-Estero are the very best at what we do.
I was born in Hopewell, VA, and grew up in Wilmington, DE. I graduated at the University of Alabama in 1991 with a degree in accounting and a minor in finance. After graduation I joined my late father’s construction firm as his CFO. Our firm, Minker Construction, Inc. became one of the largest construction company in Delaware. We were twice recognized by Fortune Magazine as one of the top 100, fastest growing, privately held, construction companies in the nation. We also built commercial office buildings for our own account. I began planning, leasing, financing and managing those office parks. That’s where my love of real estate began.
On a whim, my wife and I visited Naples and fell in love with it. So much so, that we decided to expand our business interests to include Southwest Florida, where we began investing in residential condos, single family homes and commercial properties. To facilitate those transactions, I obtained a broker’s license and began operating as Minker Properties, LLC. That was 20+ years ago.
We also invested in, and now own and manage a Minor League Baseball Team in Wilmington, Delaware, the Wilmington Blue Rocks (www.bluerocks.com).
